Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo & Associates
This award winning building has been designated a city landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission. The granite, famous for its extremely tight beds and joints, has a brownish-purple hue that compliments the Cor-10 steel beams seen in the building’s atrium. As the Head of Swenson Granite, Malcolm Swenson was responsible for all aspects of the granite quarrying, fabrication, and installation. The tight tolerances were made possible by the machine design of Swenon’s engineer, Langdon Garrison.
